⚠ Important

Please call before you come out to the ranch. We’re a working farm, not a storefront. Calling ahead makes sure we’re home to meet you and that your order is ready.

Ranch Tours & Visits

Bring the kids. Bring the class.

Most Alabamians have never seen an American Bison up close. We’re working to change that, one tour at a time.

School groups, FFA and 4-H chapters, scout troops, civic organizations, church groups, homeschool co-ops, anyone curious about the American Bison is welcome. We’ll walk you through how we raise the herd, what makes bison different from cattle, and a little of the history that brought these animals back to Alabama soil.

Visits are by appointment only. Reach out a few weeks ahead if you can, and tell us how many folks you’re bringing, roughly what ages, and any special interests. We’ll do our best to make it worth the trip.

Who We Host

Groups we welcome.

Schools & Classes

From kindergarten field trips to high school agriculture classes. We adjust how we tell the story based on the age group.

FFA & 4-H

The future of agriculture starts with seeing it in person. Chapters are always welcome, and we can talk shop.

Scouts & Youth Groups

Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, AHG, church youth groups, summer camps. The kids tend to remember the bison long after the trip.

Civic & Community

Garden clubs, Rotary, women’s groups, senior groups, homeschool co-ops. If you’ve got a group that’d enjoy seeing the herd, ask.

Planning Your Visit

How to set up a tour.

Tours are by appointment only. The simplest way to get on the calendar is to reach out a few weeks ahead with the details of your group.

Email BoundaryLineBison@gmail.com with a short note about your group, when you’d like to come, and roughly how many folks you’re bringing. We’ll get back to you to work out the rest.

If you’d rather call, the ranch number works for that too: 256-447-8811.

A note on cost: ranch tours are not free. Pricing depends on the size of your group and what you’d like to see, so call or email and we’ll quote you. Group rates are available.

For RV Travelers

We’re a Harvest Hosts site.

If you’re traveling in a self-contained RV, you can stay overnight at the ranch through Harvest Hosts. They’re a membership program that connects RVers with farms, ranches, wineries, and other small businesses across North America for unique overnight stays.

Waking up next to the herd is about as memorable as it gets. If you’re a Harvest Hosts member, book through their app and let us know you’re coming so we can be ready to greet you. If you’re not a member yet, head over to their site for membership details.
